Fabrications formed in October 2010, we have grown considerably in the marketplace in which we operate, rapidly becoming one of the leading manufacturers of bespoke steel fabrications catering for the quarrying, mining, recycling, and waste management sectors.

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Welder/Fabricator or Plant fitter to join our growing team of Site Engineers to assist with planned, reactive, and emergency maintenance on various clients' premises across the UK. We currently have a Head Office based in Nottingham, but carry out work in all areas of the UK, with most Teams working weekly in the South/London areas.

The Role

This mobile role requires you to work away Monday – Friday every week, on-site at various clients' premises. Your role will be to undertake planned, reactive maintenance and emergency running repairs to fixed and mobile plant across various Recycling, Material Processing and Quarrying Plants.

In this mobile role, you will be a Team Leader, working either in pairs or a group of teams, alongside other Welders/Fabricators and Engineers. Carrying out Installation, Maintenance, General Welding and Fabrication tasks on a variety of fixed plant machinery and equipment on a range of sites across the UK.

In your role as Team Leader, you will be expected to run the work on-site, finding the best solutions to problems, and leading your team to solve and overcome these most efficiently and effectively. Part of your daily tasks will include creating reports at the end of the day, utilising a custom app and a provided tablet/4G dongle, and carrying out on-site Risk Assessment and Method Statements when required.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Must be able to work away 5 days a week. Applicants should not apply if this is not the case. (Typically, you will not return home during this period and will be put up in a hotel near the working location).
  • Travel to a variety of sites across the UK, mainly Southern/London-based.
  • Experienced MIG and Stick Welder, with a welding background essential. (4-5 years' experience desirable)
  • GAS cutting/burning required.
  • Fabrication or Steelworker background essential. (2-3 years' experience desirable).
  • Forward thinking individual.
  • Ability to take on responsibilities.
  • Able to solve problems when presented with them.
  • Ambitions to learn new skills and progress within the company.
  • Mature attitude to work ethics and values which align with those of the company.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with hand tools.
  • Be in good health, physically fit and able to carry heavy loads.
  • Have good communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
  • Have a good understanding of health and safety.
  • Be able to work flexibly and meet deadlines.
  • Have a full UK Driving Licence.
