We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Administrator to join a small, close-knit office team supporting the Operations Manager. This is a key support role designed to reduce workload and ensure the smooth running of purchasing and supplier processes. You will be working in a quiet office environment alongside the Operations Manager, where you will take ownership of day-to-day purchasing administration, supplier communication, and order management. This is a role for someone who is confident, proactive, and able to work independently once trained.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing and managing purchase orders
- Chasing suppliers for orders and delivery updates
- Speaking with suppliers over the phone to resolve queries
- Following up on delayed or incorrect deliveries
- Challenging and questioning issues where goods/services do not meet expected standards
- Maintaining accurate records of orders and supplier communications
- Supporting the Operations Manager with general purchasing administration
- Ensuring all procurement processes are followed correctly
- Using SAP and Excel to manage data and reporting
What we are looking for
- Confident telephone manner when dealing with suppliers
- Ability to chase, follow up, and push for clear outcomes
- Comfortable questioning issues and holding suppliers accountable
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training
