Are you an experienced Business Development Manager or External Sales professional with a background in Engineering or Technical Sales? EAC are representing an Organisation in Northampton who are looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive continued growth across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive sales professional who enjoys winning new business, developing existing accounts and building long-term customer relationships.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across target industries
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline
- Research markets, identify prospects and generate new leads
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing customers
- Arrange and attend customer meetings, site visits and surveys across the UK
- Understand customer requirements and recommend technically suitable heat exchanger solutions
- Work closely with internal Engineering, Contracts, Procurement and Marketing teams
- Prepare, present and negotiate quotations and contracts
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle from enquiry to order
- Achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular sales forecasts
- Provide market and competitor intelligence
- Support marketing activity with customer and technical insight
- Follow up on completed projects and provide ongoing customer support
- Attend customer sites where required to help resolve technical or warranty-related issues
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in business development, external sales or technical sales
- A strong track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts
- A technical or engineering qualification would be advantageous
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills
- The confidence to discuss and present technical solutions to customers
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own territory
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
