Due to continued growth and increased demand, we’re looking for a UX Designer to join our Product & Engineering team. So, if you’re a user-focused designer with a passion for simplifying complex systems and creating intuitive, high-impact user experiences, we would be delighted to hear from you!

About the role:

This is a key role responsible for ensuring EA Technology’s digital and embedded products are intuitive, coherent and effective in supporting decision-making within safety-critical grid environments. You will work across SaaS and PaaS touchpoints—including embedded interfaces, commissioning tools and analytics platforms—ensuring usability is embedded early in the product lifecycle. You will reduce usability risk through research, interaction design and validation, helping teams deliver products that are not only technically robust, but trusted and effective in real-world operational contexts.

  • Lead end-to-end experience design across SaaS platforms, embedded interfaces and operational tools
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, efficient user journeys and workflows
  • Conduct user research, contextual inquiry and usability testing to validate design decisions
  • Develop prototypes and interaction models to test concepts and reduce risk before development
  • Simplify complex data and operational workflows to reduce cognitive load and improve usability
  • Drive consistency across products through shared design patterns, terminology and interaction standards
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams throughout discovery and delivery
  • Ensure design intent is clearly communicated and preserved through implementation
  • Identify and articulate usability risks early, supporting informed product and engineering decisions
  • Champion user-centred design principles across teams and promote a strong UX culture

What we’ll need from you:

  • Strong understanding of interaction design, usability principles and workflow modelling
  • Experience designing complex B2B or technical systems
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing
  • Experience designing across web-based applications and multi-surface ecosystems
  • Proficiency in prototyping and design tools (e.g. Figma or equivalent)
  • Strong systems thinking and structured problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate design intent, rationale and trade-offs clearly
  • Strong collaboration skills with Product and Engineering teams

Desirable:

  • Experience within utilities, energy, industrial or safety-critical environments
  • Experience designing data-heavy dashboards or analytics platforms
  • Understanding of embedded or constrained interfaces
  • Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design principles
  • Experience working within product-led or SaaS environments
