About the role
This is a specialist role focused on bringing deep domain and system-level expertise into EA Technology’s product development process within the Reliability domain. You will ensure that product intent, system architecture and solution design are grounded in real-world operational, regulatory and technical realities. Acting as a bridge between Product Management and Engineering, you will shape problem definitions, inform architectural decisions and contribute to coherent, cross-product solution design. This role does not own delivery or backlogs, but plays a critical role in ensuring the right problems are solved in the right way.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex customer and network challenges into structured domain problem definitions and outcome hypotheses
- Contribute system-level design thinking across SaaS, PaaS, analytics and operational workflows
- Support product discovery by validating feasibility, regulatory, operational and safety constraints early
- Embed into strategic initiatives and complex customer engagements to shape integrated solution outcomes
- Identify domain trends, regulatory changes and systemic risks that influence product and portfolio direction
- Act as a credible technical authority with customers, partners and internal engineering teams
- Ensure cross-product coherence within the Reliability domain and alignment with broader platform strategy
- Provide input into architectural decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, robust and operationally viable
- Support product and commercial teams in articulating technically credible and outcome-driven solutions
What we’ll need from you
- Deep expertise within the Reliability domain or a related grid-edge discipline (e.g. asset health, network performance)
- Strong understanding of distribution network operations, constraints and regulatory environments
- Ability to think across system layers, including hardware, software, data and operational processes
- Significant experience in power systems, utilities or infrastructure environments
- Experience working directly with network operators or within regulated utility environments
- Proven ability to shape complex, multi-disciplinary technical solutions or system architectures
- Strong systems thinking and structured problem-solving capability
- Ability to translate operational complexity into clear, actionable product and solution direction
- Excellent communication skills, with credibility across both engineering teams and senior stakeholders
- Experience working across multiple regulatory environments
- Experience supporting strategic bids or large-scale infrastructure programmes
- Familiarity with analytics-driven tools or AI-enabled grid applications
- Experience contributing to product discovery in hardware-software integrated environments
