We’re looking for TWO experienced and proactive Analysts. You’d be working with an exceptionally friendly group of people in a genuinely welcoming and positive environment.

Main responsibilities:

  • Undertake a standard range of analytical chemistry techniques on insulating fluids in accordance with procedures.
  • Perform day to day analysis in the sample order instructions prescribed by the laboratory supervisor and in accordance with the LIMS, including Urgent Sample delivery and periodic call out.
  • Preview and analyse/reprocess data following checks and review.
  • Carry out result data entry into the LIMS and report the out of ordinary data to the supervisor for action.
  • The analyst is responsible for their station and processing all daily calibration and quality control processes including:
  • Perform calibrations on equipment requiring daily calibrations.
  • Carry out Check standard Analysis.
  • Reporting of calibration and check standard failures.
  • Completion of Shewhart Charts with all calibration and quality check information.
  • Check repeatability of results and decide whether to rerun samples etc.
  • Suggest updates for SOPs and documentation following changes in procedure for review and approval in accordance with the QMS processes.

What we’ll need from you:

  • A good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, COSHH requirements, ISO 9001 and ISO17025 operational practices and relevant chemistry.
  • Proven industrial or laboratory experience in analytical chemistry.
  • Understanding of high voltage electrical assets would be a distinct advantage.
  • PC Skills, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to plan and maximise laboratory outputs.
  • Ability to follow detailed operating procedures and carry out tasks.
  • Ability to adopt a continuous improvement approach.

  • Up to £29,000 per annum.
