We have a vacancy for an Analyst Developer to join ourfantastic CTO Team. You will be working closely with a talented team of people with many years’ industry experience who are supportive, collaborative and very inclusive.

***This role requires you to be on-site in Capenhurst near Chester (CH1 6ES) 1 day per month.***

About the role:

You will be responsible for the development of novel algorithms analysing data about the electrical grid. This could mean analysing bulk data to extract insight or designing algorithms to be deployed at the grid edge on embedded hardware. You will be at the forefront of research into changing network behaviour as the UK transitions to a net zero economy.

This role involves taking ideas from concept to delivery and providing support of those solutions. The successful applicant will get to work over a wide range of problems and experience working in multiple different contexts.

This role could suit a recent graduate or someone with more experience. We are looking to encourage applications from individuals at a wide range of stages of their career. Responsibilities and salary will be adjusted to reflect the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

What we’ll need from you:

  • An ability to innovate and create new solutions to problems, not rely on existing technologies or approaches
  • Python or other high level programming language

  • This role exists at an intersection between power engineering, physics and data analysis. We are looking for a candidate who is confident in one of those areas and is willing to develop in the others. For that reason we would especially welcome applications from those with expertise in some of the below:

    • SQL, Spark or Pandas
    • AI frameworks such as Pytorch or Tensorflow
    • Electrical networks or electrical engineering principles such as 3 phase power flow
    • Experience liaising with end users to capture requirements and craft solutions
