Within our Net Zero Transition team, every individual plays a vital role in delivering innovative, real-world solutions for a sustainable energy future. This role sits within our Network Reliability function and your focus will be on projects that help to deliver the reliable and resilient electricity system of the future.

About the role:

  • Working as a consultant within the Net Zero Transition team you will be contributing to the delivery of a number of innovative projects focussed on transitioning the electricity system to a Net Zero future.
  • Delivering projects through a mixture of systems level analysis and research to resolve energy industry barriers.
  • Working with distribution networks, local planning authorities, generators, large energy users and research bodies.
  • Representing our organisation at industry forums, working groups and conferences as well as client presentations.
  • Contributing to the development of project proposals and liaising with our clients to understand their needs.
  • Identifying, developing and delivering innovative solutions to industry challenges.
  • Working with a multi-skilled, diverse team to develop projects that solve industry challenges.
  • Utilising standard toolsets to analyse, interpret and present findings from large and dispersed datasets.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Have experience working in a distribution network, related consultancy or electricity industry innovator.
  • Have experience and technical knowledge of electrical distribution networks and their planning and design considerations.
  • Have a strong analytical skillset.
  • Understand and interpret the detailed technical challenges facing the electricity networks and their customers along with articulating how these fit into the bigger picture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: in particular, established habits of clear and unambiguous email and technical document writing and an ability to present an argument clearly and concisely.
  • Recognise the importance of continuous professional development and have achieved or working towards professional registration recognised body (i.e. Chartered Engineer).
  • Have the ability to identify innovative solutions to industry challenges and work with a diverse team to develop opportunities into potential projects.
  • Enjoy solving problems through collaboration and engagement across a spread of teams and industries.
  • Work to deadlines, delivering high quality deliverables and exceed client expectations.
  • Have an undergraduate or higher-level degree/qualification in Electrical or other relevant Engineering discipline.

What we can offer you:

  • £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE) plus a company performance bonus.
