The Role

We at EA Sports have reached the next level of cohesion and craft by evolving into a modern Experience Design practice that brings UX and UI together, understanding that neither exists in a vacuum. The team is passionate and committed to developing an immersive player experience within FC. We are looking for a motivated, passionate Technical Interface Designer who bridges the gap between artists and software engineers by combining artistic skills and experience with programming and scripting and is able to bridge the link between old and new technology. You will be part of the Experience Design team and work closely with Experience Designers, project managers, programmers and other technical designers. This is an opportunity to do career-defining work and be a part of EA\\\’s most successful franchise – EA SPORTS FC.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract, working in a hybrid capacity, with a minimum of 3 days onsite at either our Southam, UK, or Bucharest, RO, offices. We are unable to provide immigration support.

Your Responsibilities

  • Recreation of screens and components from mockups provided by the design team
  • Work closely with production and directors to define and prioritize tasks, plan project schedules, allocate resources, and ensure that objectives and milestones are realistically achievable.
  • Develop and maintain strong creative and collaborative partnerships across disciplines to help further develop the game experience
  • Learn and drive art asset conversion from legacy to new format
  • Introduce and maintain best practices in code and art development
  • UI animations and effects creation using proprietary game engine
  • Apply proper art optimization techniques in art assets
  • Quickly identify and debug art and animation related issues
  • Motion demo design and creation for game front end and HUD and integration in game
  • Collaborate with engineering and art, explaining both the art team needs and the tech constraints
  • Document tools and workflows on the internal Wiki

Your Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience creating 3D motion graphics, or interfaces with game engines such as Unreal or Unity
  • Technical skills, and ability to quickly learn new proprietary production tools and workflow
  • Good understanding of Object Oriented programming languages and scripts (e.g. JavaScript, C#)
  • Familiar with scripting languages like Python
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and other graphics and animation applications
  • Visual animation and programming experience like UE’s Blueprint
  • Experience with ECS

Other Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Understanding of user experience principles
  • Understanding of revision version control software. Knowledge of Perforce is ideal
  • Degree in a relevant visual art or technical subject highly desired (e.g. BSc Computer Science or Game Programming, Game Art and Design Diploma)
