About the Role

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing, and fault finding of small works fire alarm systems across a variety of customer sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is customer focused, technically competent, and looking to further develop within a growing fire and security business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Install and commission additions and modifications to existing fire alarm systems
  • Work across a range of fire alarm platforms and protocols including Gent, Notifier, Protect, Kentec, Morley, C-Tec, and Hochiki
  • Carry out works in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
  • Perform system testing and inspections to ensure correct functionality and compliance
  • Complete all required British Standard certification and commissioning documentation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fire alarm system faults and false alarms
  • Ensure compliance with current fire safety standards including BS5839-1:202
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships and provide a professional service at all times
  • Communicate effectively with customers, engineers, and office teams regarding work progress and system status

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in fire alarm installation and commissioning
  • Strong knowledge of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
  • Experience working with multiple manufacturers (Honeywell, Kentec)
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Good understanding of BS5839-1:2025 and associated regulations
  • Ability to work independently and within a team and manage workload effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer focused with a professional approach
  • Relevant site certifications such as ECS, CSCS, or IPAF are desirable but not essential
  • Full and clean UK Driving Licence
