About the Role
Gibson Shipbrokers is seeking a Part-Time Marketing Manager to join our London team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage and deliver core marketing initiatives, ensuring continuity of brand presence and engagement throughout the contract period. This role is offered as a 12-month maternity cover, with a structured handover provided to ensure continuity of marketing activity. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to maintain established marketing processes while also bringing fresh ideas and energy to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Promotion: Deliver and execute marketing strategies that promote the Gibson Shipbrokers brand globally. Utilise channels including LinkedIn, industry panels, conferences, and industry press, coordinating company news and updates as required.
- Marketing Materials: Manage and update all marketing collateral, including brochures, merchandise, website content, and the production of news stories and features.
- LinkedIn Management: Create engaging and relevant content for Gibson's LinkedIn presence, showcasing company expertise, industry insights, and corporate activity. Monitor performance and optimise content strategy based on engagement metrics.
- Press & Communications: Draft and distribute press releases on an ad hoc basis, working closely with internal stakeholders and external press where required.
- Internal Communications: Produce and manage a bi-monthly internal newsletter, coordinating with internal team members across the business to gather content, updates, and insights.
- Industry Engagement: If needed, identify relevant global industry panels, conferences, and events. Coordinate Gibson's participation, including speaker opportunities, sponsorships, and networking initiatives to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
- Collaboration: Work closely with brokers, operations teams, and management to ensure marketing activity aligns with business objectives and supports wider company goals.
- Events: Attend and support company events as required.
- Podcast Coordination: Coordinate the production and publication of the company's in-house podcast, liaising with internal and external contributors as needed.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in marketing within a B2B, professional services, or similarly regulated industry.
- Demonstrable experience producing press releases and external communications, with an understanding of working with industry media.
- Experience delivering internal communications, including newsletters or regular staff updates, and coordinating content with multiple internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including social media management and content creation.
- Proficiency in Canva for designing brochures, social media assets, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for both external and internal audiences.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret engagement data and apply insights to improve content performance.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach, with strong attention to detail and delivery.
