About the Company

Our client is a well-established privately owned logistics and supply chain organisation operating a nationwide warehousing and transport network across the UK. The business has built an excellent reputation for delivering flexible contract logistics solutions across consumer goods, retail and eCommerce sectors. Due to continued growth and an increasing pipeline of customer opportunities, they are looking to strengthen their Solutions Design capability through the appointment of a Solutions Design Manager.

About the Role

Reporting into the commercial and solutions function, you will play a key role in supporting new business opportunities by designing practical and commercially viable warehouse solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse customer data, operational requirements and business objectives to develop effective warehousing solutions.
  • Design warehouse layouts, storage strategies and operational flows that optimise space utilisation, productivity and service performance.
  • Develop labour models, capacity plans and resource requirements to support customer proposals and operational planning.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate MHE solutions aligned to operational and commercial requirements.
  • Produce detailed solution designs, assumptions and operational models to support tender submissions and customer proposals.
  • Support the end-to-end bid and tender process, working closely with Commercial, Finance and Operational stakeholders.
  • Present proposed solutions to customers, articulating design rationale, operational benefits and commercial assumptions.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience in Solutions Design, Logistics Engineering or Warehouse Design.
  • Background within contract logistics, warehousing, retail, consumer goods or eCommerce.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and storage methodologies.
  • Experience calculating labour models, throughput and productivity assumptions.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proactive, collaborative and comfortable working independently.
