I am currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity on behalf of my client, a growing manufacturing business based in South Cambridge, who are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Executive. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships, developing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.

As Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of existing accounts while actively identifying and developing new sales opportunities. You will play an important role in increasing account value, generating new business and supporting the wider sales and marketing team to drive continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Research and contact prospective customers to generate new business.
  • Arrange and support meetings, demonstrations and follow-ups for the sales team.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure the sales pipeline is kept up to date.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to support targeted campaigns.
  • Monitor competitor activity and report on market trends, pricing and product movements.
  • Develop and maintain a referral scheme to encourage existing customers to recommend new business.
  • Manage your own pipeline and proactively identify opportunities to increase sales and account value.

The successful candidate will be a confident and proactive sales professional with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to build and maintain excellent customer relationships. You will ideally have:

  • Previous sales or business development experience - essential.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing existing accounts and generating new business.
  • A proactive and commercially focused approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own pipeline.
  • A self-motivated approach with the drive to identify and develop new opportunities.

£40,000 per annum
