We are seeking a highly organised and detail oriented Sales Ledger Administrator (Credit Control) to join a busy College Finance Department on a temporary initial 10 week contract. The role is paying £14.54 - £15.54 per hour (PAYE).
Working as part of the Sales Ledger and Credit Control team, you will support the effective management of student fees, invoicing, direct debits, reconciliations and customer accounts while helping to ensure the smooth operation of the College's financial processes.
As Sales Ledger Administrator, your duties will include:
- Raising and processing invoices and credit notes accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Supporting student enrolment activities, including payment plans, fee advice and bus pass administration.
- Managing and maintaining sales ledger accounts.
- Processing refunds and matching receipts, invoices and credit notes.
- Administering Direct Debit mandates, payment schedules and monthly collection files.
- Investigating and resolving account discrepancies and duplicate entries.
- Performing regular account reconciliations and supporting month-end processes.
- Responding to customer, student and sponsor enquiries via email and telephone.
- Monitoring shared inboxes and assisting with credit control activities.
- Taking payments over the phone and face-to-face.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
Essential:
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).
- Experience working in a Finance Office or similar finance administration role.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- A flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
Desirable:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Experience using computerised accounting systems.
- Knowledge of education sector finance systems, including EBS, Direct Debits or sales ledger processes.
