My client is a leading consultancy based in London seeking a Financial Controller. Based in London, my client is a Private Equity backed consultancy that provides strategic guidance and practical support to its diverse range of customers.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will take ownership of day-to-day financial control while helping to establish and evolve a best-in-class finance function. This is an opportunity for a Financial Controller who wants broad exposure, real influence, and the chance to develop with the business that is pursuing growth organically alongside a buy-and-build strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own financial control across the UK business and group entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Manage month-end close, statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance
- Oversee cashflow, working capital and banking requirements
- Act as a trusted finance partner to senior operational and commercial stakeholders
- Review and challenge budgets, forecasts and expenditure
- Strengthen financial governance, controls and documentation as the business scales
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting
The most desirable applicant will:
- Be fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Have strong technical accounting and financial control background
- Come with demonstrable experience in professional services / consultancy or project-based environments (highly desirable)
- Be commercially minded with strong attention to detail
