We are delighted to be partnering exclusively with The ExtraCare Charitable Trust to recruit an IT Project Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract (FTC). The role is paying £50,000, plus benefits, inclusive of hybrid working.
The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is a registered charity established in 1988, based in Coventry. They employ 1250 staff, with a turnover of over £60m plus over £70m of property sales, offering 4199 homes for older people.
Their vision is \’Better Lives for Older People\’ and their mission is to \’Create sustainable communities that provide homes older people want, lifestyles they can enjoy and care if it is needed.\’
To deliver their vision and mission they essentially do three things:
- Develop new villages.
- Operate villages and schemes.
- Support their villages, schemes and their \’extra-care\’ model through fundraising, advocacy & research.
Their inspirational locations offer vibrant communities for over 55\’s that support a healthy, active and independent lifestyle in later years. Since 1988, ExtraCare has been the UK\’s leading not-for-profit pioneer for retirement living, opening 20 locations around their Midlands base and further South.
As a charity their surpluses are re-invested into charitable activities – helping them provide better services and support.
IT Project Manager (12 month FTC):
- Manage the design, procurement, implementation and handover to support of a number of infrastructure upgrade and replacement projects at ExtraCare locations.
- Lead on the delivery of the following projects:
- IT Stabilisation
- Wi-Fi Replacement
- Building Management Systems
- Telephony
- LAN Redesign
- Comms Room Remediation
- Server Infrastructure
- Produce and maintain a plan and schedule for each project, considering technical dependencies and availability of locations.
- Management responsibility for one technical engineer role.
- Communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders regularly to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Monitor resource allocation and productivity to maintain project timelines.
- Ensure design documents are produced and peer reviewed, ensuring ExtraCare change and release management policies and standards are followed.
- Assisting with \’hands on\’ implementation and configuration work subject to available capacity.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of project plans, timelines, budgets and deliverables.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to Portfolio Manager.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in line with ExtraCare\’s Health & Safety Policies.
This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure where applicable, two satisfactory references, medical clearance and Home Office right to work clearance.
IT Project Manager (12 month FTC):
- Ideally you will hold ITIL Foundation Certification and/or Project Management Certification (PRINCE II, APM).
- Hold Technical Certifications in relevant technologies (Microsoft, Networking, Cyber Security).
- A broad understanding of LAN (IP addressing, vlans, routing, layer 2/3), Telecoms (Analogue, SIP, VOIP), Identity management (Active Directory), network services (DHCP, NTP etc), Wi-Fi, Windows Server, Windows PC.
- Previous experience of planning and managing infrastructure projects across multiple sites.
- Delivery of IT infrastructure projects for an IT services company or large end user company.
- Knowledge of cyber security principles and frameworks.
- An ability to blend resource from internal and supplier teams.
- A track record working in a structured manner to high technical standards and quality.
- Ability to evidence successful delivery of projects.
- Participating in a public sector procurement exercise is desirable.
- A positive attitude to tackling challenges. Inquisitive; curiosity and hunger to understand digital solutions and opportunities.
