The Birmingham site of this high growth, PE backed UK manufacturer is seeking a Finance Business Partner - Logistics to support its expanding national logistics network. Our client is a well established, multi‑site manufacturing group with a portfolio of long standing brands recognised across the UK. With significant private equity investment, the business is modernising its supply chain, strengthening its logistics capability and scaling operations to support continued growth.
As Finance Business Partner - Logistics based in Birmingham, reporting to the Head of Logistics you will provide financial insight, governance and challenge across warehousing, transport, inventory and 3PL operations. The role supports planning cycles, month-end delivery, operational decision making and continuous improvement across the logistics function.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Planning & Reporting: Own logistics budgets, forecasts and latest estimates. Deliver accurate month‑end reporting with clear variance analysis and commentary. Maintain KPIs and reporting outputs for cost, service and operational performance.
- Business Partnering & Insight: Act as the finance contact for Logistics and 3PL partners, providing clear, actionable insight. Analyse operational and financial data to highlight risks, opportunities and trends. Support cost saving initiatives, supplier reviews and logistics improvement projects.
- Financial Control & Governance: Maintain strong controls across accruals, provisions, stock related costs and third party charges. Review and reconcile logistics invoices, supplier claims, service credits and cost recovery items. Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements and approval processes.
- Projects & Continuous Improvement: Support logistics projects including warehouse changes, transport reviews and system/process enhancements. Drive improvements in reporting quality, data integrity and cross functional collaboration.
The desirable Finance Business Partner - Logistics application will have:
- A qualified accountant status (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience in FP&A, business partnering or management accounting.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution or related operational environments.
- Confidence to challenge stakeholders, including 3PLs, and influence decision making.
- A structured, detail driven approach with strong commercial awareness.
