We are supporting a market-leading FS company with the appointment of a hands-on Enterprise PMO Lead on a contract basis to support a complex and ambitious change portfolio. This role will suit an experienced PMO professional who is comfortable operating at an enterprise level while remaining closely involved in delivery. It requires someone who is prepared to personally own PMO outputs and artefacts, and engage effectively across all levels of the organisation - from delivery teams through to Executive and Board-level stakeholders. This role will not suit a purely strategic or oversight-only PMO manager who is accustomed to delegating delivery. The successful contractor will be actively involved in shaping, producing, and refining PMO materials and insights themselves.
The Role
As Enterprise PMO Lead, you will provide hands-on leadership across the change portfolio, combining senior stakeholder engagement with direct delivery. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, navigating ambiguity, influencing decision-making, and contributing directly to the effectiveness of portfolio governance, reporting, and controls. While the role does not involve building a PMO from scratch, individuals who have previously worked in environments where PMO capability was evolving, including those who have established or reshaped PMO functions, are likely to be well-suited to the pace, ambiguity, and stakeholder exposure required.
Key Responsibilities
- Personally produce and maintain portfolio-level reporting, governance materials, and delivery insights
- Engage directly with Executive, Board, and Director-level stakeholders, providing clear, credible updates and challenges
- Support portfolio prioritisation, sequencing, and delivery decision-making
- Strengthen and evolve existing PMO frameworks, controls, and ways of working in a pragmatic manner
- Proactively identify, manage, and escalate delivery risks, issues, and dependencies
- Operate effectively in high-ambiguity environments, adapting approach as required
Skills & Attributes
- Delivery-focused, detail-oriented, and highly proactive
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Confident operating across both strategic and tactical levels
- Pragmatic, adaptable, and resilient
- Comfortable constructively challenging senior stakeholders
Location & Working Pattern
Hybrid role with two days per week onsite.
