📅 Duration

4–5 months initially

We're supporting a leading banking client on the appointment of an experienced Head of Product Management to drive product management excellence across a large-scale transformation programme.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a true product professional who has built, scaled and coached high-performing product organisations.

You'll play a key role in embedding modern product practices, influencing senior stakeholders and helping shape the future product operating model within a highly regulated environment.

The Role

You'll lead the Product Advisory capability, partnering with senior business and technology leaders to improve product management maturity across the organisation.

Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll help embed customer-centric product thinking, strengthen strategic decision-making and coach leaders to deliver better customer and business outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who has operated at Head of Product level or above and has significant experience influencing executive stakeholders within complex organisations.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the Product Management Advisory function, driving product management maturity across multiple business areas.
  • Coach and advise senior product leaders, executives and cross-functional teams on modern product practices.
  • Shape and embed best practice across product discovery, strategy, prioritisation, roadmaps, experimentation and value measurement.
  • Partner with business agility and platform leaders to align product management, delivery and operating model transformation.
  • Champion customer-centric decision making and evidence-based product development.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and challenge existing ways of working to improve customer outcomes.
  • Develop and mentor Product Management Coaches, ensuring consistency and quality across the advisory function.
  • Support wider Product Excellence and organisational transformation initiatives.

What we are looking for

We're specifically looking for experienced, end-to-end Product Management leaders rather than delivery professionals with product exposure.

What we would love to see

  • Extensive experience leading Product Management functions within large, complex organisations.
  • A proven track record of building high-performing product teams and improving product maturity.
  • Deep expertise in product strategy, discovery, prioritisation, product operating models and customer-led product development.
  • Experience coaching senior leaders and influencing executive (Cx O) stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of modern product practices within regulated environments such as banking or financial services.
  • An ability to balance customer outcomes, commercial value, governance and delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
  • Please Note

This opportunity requires a genuine Product Management leader with deep product expertise.

Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily focused on project, programme or delivery management, with limited end-to-end product leadership experience, are unlikely to be suitable.

If you're passionate about shaping product organisations, influencing senior leaders and driving product excellence within one of the UK's leading banking environments, we'd love to hear from you.
