Business Systems Analyst – Insurance Software
Employment Type: Permanent
Department: Implementation & Client Delivery
Are you an experienced Business Systems Analyst with strong insurance knowledge and a passion for delivering end-to-end solutions? Our client, a well-established insurance software provider, is expanding its BSA team and seeking three talented individuals to join them during a period of significant growth.
This is a highly varied, client-facing role where you'll work across the full project lifecycle—shaping requirements, configuring solutions, running workshops, delivering training, and ensuring successful implementation for clients across the UK and internationally.
About the Role
As a Business Systems Analyst, you'll operate at the intersection of clients, technology, and delivery. The position combines business analysis with hands-on configuration work, including building logic within the system using SQL. You'll play a key role from pre-sales through to delivery, taking ownership of your projects and ensuring solutions are aligned with client needs and business processes.
What You'll Be Doing
- Analysis & Requirements
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather, refine, and document requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed project specifications and proposals.
- Produce feasibility assessments and evaluate solution options.
- Configuration & Technical Work
- Configure the insurance platform to meet client-specific workflows and product designs.
- Develop SQL-based logic, queries, and reporting outputs (Crystal Reports / MS Report Builder).
- Support testing by creating test schedules and assisting with system and model testing.
- Client Delivery
- Present proposed solutions and completed configurations to clients.
- Deliver user training and create clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Ensure technical compatibility, user satisfaction, and smooth delivery.
- Work independently or as part of a team, taking full ownership of assigned tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Strong understanding of insurance processes and terminology.
- Proven business analysis experience—requirements gathering, scoping, documentation, stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to configure software applications, ideally within insurance or financial services.
- Good SQL knowledge and understanding of database concepts.
- Strong logical problem-solving skills and ability to create innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with confidence in client-facing environments.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of workloads.
- Experience working for an insurance software vendor.
- Technical foundations—ex-developers or candidates with scripting/configuration experience often do well.
- In-house insurance BAs with deep product or operational knowledge.
Why Join?
- Structured Training & Onboarding
- Comprehensive training across products, claims, accounts, workflows, and configuration tools ensures new joiners are fully supported. Training is a major priority and a key contributor to team success.
- With a growing team and supportive structure (team leads mentoring small groups), there are clear opportunities for progression.
- Strong staff retention and long-tenured employees.
- Supportive, flexible, close-knit team.
- Hard-working but positive environment with excellent client relationships.
What they can offer you:
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Pension scheme (flexible options available)
- Death in service
- EV scheme & pension salary sacrifice options
- Discretionary annual bonus
- Open to candidates on long notice periods (up to 3 months)
