Quantity Surveyor – Retrofit and Decarbinisation Projects Royston, Hertfordshire £60,000 + £6,452 car allowance (or £8,052 for electric car) We are working with a leading contractor in the property services and refurbishment sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Royston, Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key commercial role on a variety of retrofit and decarbonisation projects, supporting the UK’s drive towards energy efficiency and sustainable housing. The Role As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of retrofit and decarbonisation projects, ensuring delivery is cost-effective, financially compliant, and aligned with relevant funding requirements such as PAS 2035, SHDF, and ECO4. Day-to-day, you will take ownership of: * Cost planning, procurement, valuations, and final accounts. * Ensuring commercial compliance and financial control across projects. * Managing budgets and reporting on project performance. * Negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers. * Supporting delivery teams with commercial expertise to ensure successful project outcomes. About You We are looking for a commercially astute professional with: * Proven Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within retrofit, decarbonisation, or energy efficiency projects. * Strong knowledge of PAS 2035, ECO4, SHDF or similar frameworks/funding requirements. * Excellent understanding of JCT/NEC contracts. * Proficiency in measurement software and Microsoft Excel. * First-class analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills. Desirable qualifications and experience include: * Experience working with local authorities, housing associations, or other public sector clients. * Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent). * Professional accreditation (RICS or CIOB), or working towards. * Retrofit-specific training such as PAS 2035 knowledge
