We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established and growing social housing contractor for an experienced Bid Writer to join their work‑winning team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented writer with experience in construction, refurbishment, or property services to play a key role in securing new business opportunities across the social housing sector. The business delivers refurbishment, planned maintenance, responsive repairs, and cyclical works for local authorities and housing associations.

The Role

As Bid Writer, you will be responsible for producing high‑quality, compelling tender submissions that clearly demonstrate the company’s capabilities, compliance, and value proposition. Working closely with operational, commercial, and leadership teams, you will manage submissions from initial opportunity through to final tender delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing, editing, and coordinating high‑quality PQQs, ITTs, and tender submissions.
  • Producing persuasive, client‑focused responses tailored to social housing and public‑sector frameworks.
  • Managing multiple bid submissions simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Liaising with operational, commercial, and technical teams to gather accurate content and supporting information.
  • Maintaining and developing bid libraries, case studies, CVs, and supporting documentation.
  • Reviewing tender specifications and ensuring all submissions are compliant and professionally presented.
  • Supporting continuous improvement across bid processes and submission quality.
  • Assisting with framework applications and procurement portal submissions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Bid Writer within social housing, domestic refurbishment / property services.
  • Excellent written communication, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Experience producing tenders for housing associations, local authorities, or public‑sector clients.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
