The Role: With one eye on the future, the business is looking to appoint a candidate into a Sales Executive capacity, but are open to background and speciality. The successful candidate will be mentored in all areas of the day-to-day running of the business – from selling materials through to undertaking take-offs, negotiating deals with suppliers to ensure consistent stock levels, managing tool hire and more. As you progress within the business and begin to build an understanding of its inner workings, there is a clear path to a position within the businesses’ management structure.
Responsibilities: There’s plenty to get stuck into, and while applicants may not be experienced in all areas listed out below, there’s full commitment to the development of all staff and training is available in all areas set out below!
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide expert advice on construction materials and product selection.
- Resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability.
- Coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Conduct regular stock checks and update records accordingly.
- Team Delivery:
- Support all business staff in their daily activities.

- Sales and Promotion:

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a builder's merchant business or a similar role would be an advantage, but we encourage applicants from Buying, Site Management or Surveying backgrounds who have developed knowledge of construction materials and/or methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in basic computer applications and inventory management systems.
- Generally good standard of education; specific industry qualifications are a bonus.
