The Role
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Payroll Administrator who can handle director payroll, variable payroll, pension setups, and payroll setups with confidence. The ideal candidate will have experience using QuickBooks and Xero payroll software and be able to work independently. This role is part-time and hybrid, with the flexibility to work remotely but attend the office 1-2 days per month for team meetings and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll for a range of clients, including directors and employees with variable pay.
Software Expertise: Process payroll efficiently using QuickBooks and Xero Payroll.
Payroll Setup & Compliance: Set up payroll schemes for new clients, ensuring full compliance with UK payroll regulations.
Pension Administration: Set up and manage workplace pension schemes, ensuring accurate contributions and compliance.
Client Communication: Liaise with clients to collect payroll data, answer queries, and ensure seamless service.
HMRC Submissions: Handle RTI (Real-Time Information) submissions, PAYE, and National Insurance calculations.
Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies, investigate errors, and resolve issues efficiently.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Minimum 2 years in a payroll role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
Software Skills: Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Payroll and Xero Payroll.
Payroll Knowledge: Experience in director payroll, variable payroll, and pension setups.
Attention to Detail: Highly accurate with numbers and payroll calculations.
Proactive Attitude: Able to work independently and hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
