An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mobile HGV Crane Engineer to join a well-established specialist engineering business providing servicing, repair and installation of lorry-loader cranes and vehicle-mounted lifting equipment.
Duties of the HGV Crane Engineer
Working across hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems, you will be responsible for:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing lorry-loader and truck-mounted lifting equipment
- Diagnosing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults.
- Working on pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses and hydraulic control systems.
- Fault-finding on 24V electrical, CAN bus and electronic control systems.
- Carrying out planned servicing and reactive breakdown repairs.
- Installing, wiring, testing and commissioning new systems.
- Completing inspections, testing and LOLER-related work where qualified.
- Mechanical repairs, component replacement and occasional fabrication/welding.
- Providing technical support and equipment handovers to customers.
- Field based and workshop-based role

Previous experience working with cranes, lifting equipment, hydraulics, HGV equipment or vehicle-mounted machinery is required.
Experience in any of the following would be particularly advantageous for the HGV Crane Engineer:

- 24V vehicle electrics
- CAN bus systems
- Installation and commissioning
- LOLER / Thorough Examination
- ALLMI qualifications
- Welding and fabrication
- Hook loaders, tail lifts, winches or similar equipment
