A Quality Inspector is required for a reputable Engineering & Manufacturing company, employing over 500 staff across the world. This long-established organisation supplies a variety of industries with complex flow control products, including Valves, Pumps and Actuators.

This organisation recently decided to make significant investment (worth circa £1.8m) into their Leeds site, which will include a full overhaul of the workspace and facilities. Due to continued demand for their versatile product range, this organisation is recruiting for several positions including a Quality Inspector.

This opportunity is based in LEEDS, meaning the successful Quality Inspector will be easily able to commute from surrounding areas including Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Dewsbury and Halifax.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical inspections of components ensuring compliance with agreed specifications.
  • Ensure metrology equipment is periodically calibrated and records are kept up to date.
  • Document NCR’s within the companies systems and investigate their root causes whilst providing solutions to avoid future occurrence.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement and Supply Chain departments.
  • Develop procedure checklists to standardise the inspection of components, to enable other employees to conduct inspections.
  • Provide final inspection and product release sign-off.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to ensure the business complies with ISO9001 standards.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Quality Inspector within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience using and calibrating Micrometers, Gauges, Vernier’s, Comparators and Air Gauges.
  • The ability to read technical drawings, interpret technical standards and tolerances.
Salary & Benefits
  • £30,000 to £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • 30 Days annual leave including bank holidays.
  • 8% Combined pension (3% employer/ 5% employee).
