We are currently recruiting for an experienced SAP PM Consultant to support a key maintenance improvement project at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. This assignment will focus on the development, review and implementation of SAP Plant Maintenance plans and task lists, ensuring that maintenance strategies already defined through FMEA studies are accurately translated.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on SAP Plant Maintenance specialist who enjoys working closely with Engineering and Maintenance teams to improve asset management, data quality and preventive maintenance effectiveness.

The Role

As the SAP PM Consultant you will be working as part of the site Engineering team, responsible for:

  • Reviewing existing Plant Maintenance data, maintenance plans and task lists.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and building robust maintenance plans based on established maintenance strategies.
  • Converting agreed outputs into practical, effective and fully functional maintenance plans and task lists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing SAP maintenance plans, task lists and equipment records.
  • Compare FMEA outputs against live data and identify gaps, duplicates and required amendments.
  • Create new maintenance plans and task lists.
  • Update existing plans to align with approved maintenance strategies.
  • Assign appropriate work centres, labour hours and resource requirements.
  • Standardise maintenance task descriptions, frequencies and data structures.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance and Planning teams to resolve technical queries.
  • Support validation and approval activities prior to implementation.
  • Assist with data cleansing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong practical experience with SAP PM (Plant Maintenance).
  • Previous experience creating and maintaining maintenance plans and task lists.
  • Good understanding of preventative maintenance and maintenance planning principles.
  • Ability to work independently and engage effectively with engineering and maintenance stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, COMAH or other process industry environments.
  • Previous involvement converting FMEA outputs into maintenance plans and maintenance strategies.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.
  • Experience assigning labour hours, resource loading and work centres.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an experienced SAP Plant Maintenance professional with a proven track record of delivering similar maintenance plan and task list development projects. You will be confident working with site-based Engineering teams, interpreting maintenance requirements and translating them into structured, effective maintenance plans with minimal supervision.

  • Rate: £26-£30 per hour
  • Status: Outside IR35
