HGV Rental Sales Manager (OTE £100,000 p.a) required for an established specialist within the HGV rental sector, supplying flexible commercial-vehicle solutions to businesses across a range of UK industries. The company currently operates a modern fleet of more than 250 vehicles and has significant expansion plans. The fleet is expected to grow to approximately 350 vehicles before reaching around 450 vehicles within the next 24 months.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced HGV Rental Sales Executive to generate new business and develop existing customer accounts. The primary focus of the position will be identifying and securing new rental opportunities. You will also manage a portfolio of existing customers, increasing repeat business and identifying further opportunities within those accounts. You will receive assistance from the customer service and marketing teams, together with access to a modern CRM system for managing enquiries, prospects, sales activity and follow-up actions. Key Duties

  • Identify and approach organisations with current or future HGV rental requirements.
  • Develop a structured sales pipeline across agreed sectors and geographical areas.
  • Arrange customer meetings and site visits to understand fleet requirements.
  • Convert prospective customers into active rental accounts.
  • Manage incoming enquiries and progress opportunities from the initial discussion through to vehicle delivery.
  • Assess customer requirements and recommend appropriate vehicles, trailers or rental arrangements.
  • Prepare accurate quotations and commercially appropriate rental proposals.
  • Agree rates and rental terms within the company's commercial guidelines.
  • Work with the rental and fleet teams to confirm vehicle availability before finalising customer agreements.
  • Coordinate with the transport, workshop and customer service departments to ensure an efficient vehicle handover.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity, quotations and follow-up dates within the CRM system.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Substantial sales experience within HGV rental, commercial-vehicle leasing or a closely related sector.
  • Knowledge of HGVs, trailers and lorry loaders.
  • A track record of securing new business and developing customer accounts.
  • The ability to build credible, long-term commercial relationships.
  • Experience preparing quotations and agreeing rental rates and terms.
  • Good commercial awareness and an appreciation of fleet utilisation and profitability.
  • A professional and customer-focused communication style.

Additional training on the company's systems, fleet and products will be provided.
