E1 Partners is partnering with a growing energy business seeking an experienced Settlements Manager to lead performance across the end-to-end gas or electricity settlements journey. This is a fantastic opportunity for an established settlements leader who thrives on driving operational excellence, improving data quality, and leading high-performing teams within the UK energy market.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of day-to-day settlement performance, ensuring delivery against both industry and internal targets, from acquisition right through to final settlement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining accurate reporting and dashboards, using data to identify root causes, trends, and improvement opportunities
- Driving high standards across the full settlement lifecycle
- Leading and developing your team — setting objectives, coaching performance, and preparing for industry change and portfolio growth
- Building strong relationships across Billing, Customer Operations, Sales, and the wider business
- Driving gas transfer read acceptance and resolving disputes and exceptions proactively
- Partnering with Finance to understand settlement variances, financial impacts, risks, and mitigations
- Improving processes and controls to achieve right-first-time settlement and reduce manual rework
- Acting as an escalation point for complex settlement issues and coordinating cross-functional resolution
Requirements:
- Proven experience leading a gas or electricity settlements, metering, or billing team within the UK energy market
- Strong understanding of settlement processes and operational drivers of settlement quality
- Ability to translate operational activity into financial impact and risk
- Track record of continuous improvement and process optimisation
- Confident and engaging people leader who builds ownership and accountability
- Strong stakeholder management skills across internal teams and third parties
- Analytical mindset with strong Excel skills and experience handling large datasets
- Experience working with or improving settlement, billing, or data platforms is desirable
