We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part time Pharmacy Courier Driver to join our team based in Norfolk and Waveney due to continued growth.
Contract: Perm/part time - Saturday 08:00 - 16:00 (8 hours)
The main purpose of the courier driver role is to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods, pharmacy and diagnostic samples for test between Hospital sites in the Norwich, Norfolk areas.
Responsibilities:
- The role will require excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to maintain the highest standards.
- Using electronic and paper-based forms of recording tasks and items delivered and collected, making sure that all courier tasks are carried out correctly and to scheduled times.
- The role may involve heavy lifting/manual handling of equipment and goods, using a tail lift and loading/unloading and moving of roll cages.
- To carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
- To complete digital and manual documentation required by both legislation and organisational procedures.
- To maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
- To ensure all items are always kept safe and secure.
- To always comply with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle.
- To act as customer contact at delivery points of service, and relay relevant information to the operations office.
- To complete vehicle checks prior to use, and to notify any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.
- To always act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users.
Requirements:
- You must have held a Full UK Manual Driving Licence for a minimum of 12 months and have no more than 6 penalty points.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Must be able to plan routes effectively.
- Must be a good communicator.
- Customer focused.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Must be able to use a PDA (training will be provided).
- Good/Clear handwriting.
- Familiar with the local and surrounding areas.
