Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for Courier Drivers to join our team based in Shrewsbury.
Role and remuneration
The main purpose of this courier driver role is to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods and equipment. This is a bank (0 hour) position with day shifts only. Salary: Β£12.21 per hour (+12.07% uplift on each hour worked, in lieu of holiday pay).
Responsibilities
- Carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
- Complete digital and manual documentation required by legislation and organisational procedures.
- Maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
- Ensure all items are kept safe and secure at all times.
- Comply at all times with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle.
- Act as customer contact at delivery points of service, and relay relevant information to the operations office.
- Complete vehicle checks prior to use, and notify any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.
- Act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users at all times.
Qualifications and requirements
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to plan routes effectively.
- Good communication skills.
