We have a diverse range of employees, bank workers and volunteers from different backgrounds. Previous or current job roles and experiences working with vulnerable people is beneficial; however, we are more focused on recruiting based on values and the passion to make a difference.

Details

  • Hours of Work: 37 hours per week working between 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Home based with travel around the London area. Note: You will be expected to take a flexible approach and potentially could be expected to commute outside of your specified borough. This commute would be covered within our mileage rate within our policy.
  • Salary: Starting salary £26,743.64 per annum.
  • Contract Type: Permanent

What You'll Do

  • Provide high quality instructed and non-instructed advocacy according to the needs of the client and relevant to the service being provided.
  • Act on behalf of clients at all times, including following their instructions, taking action as directed by them or representing their wishes, feelings, beliefs and values in a way that is consistent with the law, guidance and best practice.
  • To evidence effective, outcome-focused case management, ensuring all casework demonstrates processes of planning, action and review with relevant recording.
  • To provide high quality written reports as part of statutory advocacy roles.
  • To escalate concerns or complaints professionally to relevant public bodies as instructed by clients or otherwise where appropriate.

Independent Advocate Requirements

  • Strong communication and time management skills to successfully work remotely.
  • Excellent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to learn software packages such as client management databases.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of records and reporting to meet tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a similar role within health, social care, or the voluntary sector.
  • Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable adults.
  • Working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations.
