We complete more than one property inspection every 12 seconds and employ over 600 surveyors from Land’s End to John O’Groats and Northern Ireland. This gives us the flexibility to offer nationwide coverage combined with invaluable local knowledge. We are now recruiting for Technical Surveying Managers (specialising in equity release). The role would suit an experienced AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS surveyor looking for a new opportunity.
You will interact with Equity Release lenders, operations and the wider risk and audit team to ensure our reports are completed to a high standard and all the best support and guidance is available to our surveyors throughout the UK. You’ll also actively monitor surveyor technical compliance and provide technical guidance to the business, external clients, and suppliers. This is a maternity cover 9 FTC. Occasional national travel may be required with presence in the Kettering Office to suit business needs.
Main Accountabilities
- Contribute to development of existing valuation policy and controls.
- Maintain and enhance e.surv’s outward facing specialist contact for Equity Release lenders.
- Monitoring and reacting to industry news/policy changes/updates.
- Attendance at industry forums (where applicable).
- Input on contract renewals/tenders.
- Blogs/tech papers.
- Public speaking and building slide decks (MS Power Point).
- Support testing of new workflows, mapping and new technologies.
- Provide assistance to the Communications Team to enable notifications to be issued to the wider business which provide clear confirmation of mapping, policy and guidance changes.
- Supporting Equity Release lender clients with technical guidance.
- Create and issue regular guidance to internal stakeholders and external clients covering a range of current and emerging issues relating to residential survey and valuation.
- Deliver regular presentations at meetings on a range of issues relating to residential surveys and valuation.
- Provide assistance to Area Managers and Strategic Relationship Managers in resolving escalated cases where specialist technical/valuation knowledge is required.
- Regular attendance and contribution to Area Manager meetings, where proportionate.
- Support Learning and Development team in creating learning material covering a range of subjects relating to internal policies, statutory and regulatory changes.
- This may involve delivery of presentations/webinars to surveyors.
- Working closely with Customer Care to mitigate against and reflect on indemnity claims and the Post Valuation Query team to reduce the number of queries into the business.
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Detailed knowledge of RICS “Red Book” requirements.
- Knowledge of current trends and emerging issues in the residential surveying and valuation sector.
- Be prepared to travel and engage within forums.
- The ability to interpret Management Information and work with internal IT systems.
- Understanding of MS Excel and the value of property data.
- Proven practical expertise in completing a wide range of valuation and survey instructions.
Desirable
- Minimum of 5 years experience in residential surveying and valuation market.
- Understanding of the end to end mortgage origination process.
Qualifications
- Minimum AssocRICS / MRICS / FRICS.
