Trading since 1989, Chartered Surveyors is the UK's number one residential surveyor and the largest provider of property risk expertise and residential surveying services. We complete more than one property inspection every 12 seconds and employ over 600 surveyors from Land’s End to John O’Groats and Northern Ireland. This gives us the flexibility to offer nationwide coverage combined with invaluable local knowledge. We work with lenders, intermediaries, social housing entities and estate agents in addition to private customers.
The role is working in the B2C team managing existing accounts and growing relationships and prospecting new accounts. A typical split of workload would be 90% new business, 10% existing Account Management. The purpose of this role is to expand and develop growth within the private survey sector, being a brand ambassador. This role is remote based working from home with 80% of time expected on the phone or on ‘Teams’ meetings. The individual is expected to manage their own workload in quadrants and to be effective with growth based on the company objectives and guidance by their manager. This is a high-paced role and requires the individual to have pace, urgency and a desire to succeed. The individual is expected to have good organisational skills and good ability to collaborate with different people and needs to own the data assigned to them.
Key Accountabilities
- Prospect and win new B2B accounts: Identify and contact all appropriate new B2B business opportunities.
- Utilise all forms of outreach such as phone, email and virtual meetings to engage prospects.
- Present tailored solutions that meet client needs and position as the preferred partner.
- Ensure smooth onboarding for newly acquired clients.
- Manage accounts until they are actively transacting, providing support and guidance throughout the initial stages.
- Create and refine strategies to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
- Adapt approaches based on trends, client feedback, and company objectives.
- Hand over all active accounts to the Customer Success team following established procedures.
- Take ownership of reactivating dormant accounts when required.
- Update and manage client information in CRM systems.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to support decision-making and performance tracking.
- Work closely with internal teams (CS, LCP etc) to deliver seamless service and resolve client queries efficiently.
- Monitor market developments and industry news to identify opportunities and risks.
- Attend relevant events to build knowledge and expand networks.
- Ensure all team tasks are performed to the necessary standards in order to align to quality standards and ensure data confidentiality, integrity and availability.
- Ensure own H&S, and that of colleagues by complying with both legal and policy requirements.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications required
Essential
- Experience in Business Development, B2B Sales, or similar client-facing role focused on growth.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with strong negotiation ability.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident using technology/CRM systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial awareness with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Desirable
- Background in survey, property, or financial services.
- Minimum 2–3 years in B2B Customer Success, Account Management, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated track record of growing accounts and achieving revenue targets.
- Experience working with CRM systems and data-driven performance monitoring.
- Background in property, surveying, or financial services is desirable but not essential.
Location: Remote (with occasional travel for key client meetings or team events).
Flexible approach to resolving problems and task management. Complaint resolution and customer care skills. Knowledge of the housing market and transactional sale a plus.
