CS e-STORAGE is looking for a system performance analyst to carry out the in-depth analysis of performance data from battery storage systems. This position is at the crossroads of battery energy storage systems (BESS), engineering, and data analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the performance of the BESS; conduct downtime analysis, identify under-performing areas and sub-systems, provide an understanding of system behaviour, and direct improvements & updates to improve system availability and capacity.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like BESS Storage Availability, Charge/Discharge Energy, RTE, SoC and prepare reports (dashboards and presentations) to share with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Calculate major equipment unavailability and LDs, communicate, and reconcile with suppliers and owners.
  • Review monthly performance report from subcontractors for accuracy and prepare client-facing performance report.
  • Develop tools and automation (such as scripts, Python codes) to collect and process data for directing system operation and maintenance (O&M) and monitor BESS plant performance, such as flagging underperforming assets in real-time.
  • Perform modelling and simulations of battery degradations from aging and cycling to establish warranty terms and predict augmentation schedules, using various industry standard and customized programs.
  • Maintain and upgrade such programs to keep abreast with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Interface with other personnel in Engineering, Service, Project Execution teams as well as subcontractors and clients.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Science or Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with BESS, solar energy, or power systems.
  • Fluent in Python programming, Jupyter notebook environment and SQL language.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud would be an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and in-depth familiarity with big data analysis.
  • Problem solving ability, critical thinking, creative thinking skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to write clear, concise reports.
  • Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
