Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place! E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of space-powered Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are fundamentally changing the design, economics, manufacturing, coverage limitations and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.
By building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system—with a unique antenna design, highly sustainable spacecraft system and low-cost, small portable end-user devices—we can extend global satellite coverage, capacity and connectivity beyond legacy space services to provide a new kind of IoT platform that lets users sense, track, connect and act on information gathered, anywhere.
We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to saving space, protecting our planet and turning connectivity into actionable intelligence. We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Digital Hardware Design Engineer to join our hardware engineering team. You will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of complex digital hardware solutions for high-performance products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will take ownership of designs from concept through to production, driving technical excellence across the full development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement digital hardware including high-speed interfaces, signal processing, and switching/routing architectures.
- Develop, simulate, and verify RTL designs, ensuring correctness, timing closure, and design robustness.
- Define and review hardware architectures, contributing to system-level design decisions and trade-off analyses.
- Produce and review detailed design documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test plans.
- Perform functional simulation, static timing analysis, and synthesis targeting FPGAs and/or ASICs.
- Collaborate with firmware, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless hardware/software integration.
- Support hardware verification and validation activities, including lab bring-up and debugging.
- Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless design for high volume manufacture and test.
- Work with component manufacturers and distributors to ensure longevity of manufacture.
- Degree (BEng/MEng/BSc or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals including clocking strategies, CDC (clock domain crossing), reset architecture, and timing constraints.
- Experience with FPGA design flows using tools such as Vivado, Quartus, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with simulation tools such as ModelSim, Questa, or similar.
- Experience writing and executing hardware test plans and debug at the board level using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, protocol analysers).
- Strong understanding of high-speed PCB design considerations and signal integrity principles.
- Five or more years experience with high speed digital design.
- Experience with Altium Designer.
- Experience with Hyperlynx Accelerated life testing.
We want you to make the most of your journey at E-Space. That’s why we support and invest in the physical, emotional and financial well-being of our team members and their families. Some of what you can expect when working at E-Space:
- An opportunity to really make a difference.
