10 years of experience in COBOL programming and VAXVMS development
Strong COBOL programming skills
Extensive experience with VAXVMS operating system
Familiarity with VAX COBOL compiler and related utilities
Experience with VAXVMS file systems and database management
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with COBOL applications and VAXVMS systems
Provide technical support to end users
Develop maintain and enhance COBOL programs and applications running on VAXVMS
Write test and debug COBOL code according to specifications
Develop and document code according to company standards
Proficient in the VAXVMS operating system and its associated tools
Familiar with VAX COBOL compiler and related utilities
Experience with VAXVMS file systems and database management
Experience with ICMS tool and with RDB Relational Database
Preferred Skills
Experience with specific VAXVMS applications or industries
Experience with other legacy technologies
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Job Responsibilities
Work with Client Business user team for Requirement discussion
Involve in Knowledge Acquisition Technical Design and Estimation for Fixes and Enhancements
Effective involvement in both Functional and Technical knowledge with Customer SMEs and Tech Leads
Work allocation and sync between Offshore Dev QA Team
Involve in Customer business user for Project Prioritization and Design discussion
Work with Client user team to prioritizing bug defects and changes
Reproducing the defects reported by Client
Expected to be a good team Collaboration between other Leads and Bas
Work with customer help desk to takes care of complete infrastructure related tasks queries for onsite and offshore team
Work with customer server admin team to takes care of implementation and change control tasks
Work with Developers to perform root cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis
Technically lead the VAXVMS development team
Prompt reporting to Onsite and Offshore Managers
Prompt reporting to Customer Stakeholders
Educating team to make sure the nature of the defects bugs are not repeated
Take up complete ownership of technical landscape of the application during knowledge acquisition
Building Knowledge repository which helps Dev and QA team to understand the business Requirements
Ability to Define Life Cycle Processes Template and Checklist
Ability to conduct group design review with customer team
Ability to conduct group code review with customer and offshore team
Reach out to larger team for cross functional knowledge sharing training and review
Ability to reach out to any customer team for resolution and clarification
