The Project Engineering Manager will lead a project or tender engineering team, overseeing technical execution for HVDC/STATCOM projects, tenders, and FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) submissions. The role requires managing the project engineering team to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions within project timelines. The Project Engineering Manager will ensure safety, quality, and compliance with company standards while maintaining communication with the project manager and client to report progress and address challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project/ Tender Management: Lead the engineering team responsible for executing HVDC/STATCOM projects, tenders, or FEED submissions. Coordinate project timelines, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and milestones. Manage the technical scope of the project, ensuring the engineering team delivers within the defined parameters.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary engineering team to ensure efficient project execution. Foster a collaborative environment and provide guidance and support to team members on technical issues. Regularly follow up with team members to track deliverables, providing resources and support where necessary. Ensure effective communication and teamwork within the engineering team and across departments.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Lead and participate in technical discussions with the client, addressing project requirements and providing engineering expertise. Ensure clear communication with the project manager and stakeholders on project progress, risks, and timelines. Act as the primary technical point of contact between the client and the project team.
  • Resource and Support Management: Assess resource needs for the team and liaise with management to request additional resources or support when necessary. Ensure that the engineering team is adequately staffed and has the required tools and technology to execute the project effectively.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly report progress on deliverables to the project manager, highlighting any potential risks or delays. Monitor and evaluate project performance against established targets and make adjustments as needed to keep the project on track.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering teams for HVDC/STATCOM projects, tenders, or FEED submissions.
  • Strong understanding of HVDC/STATCOM technology and its application in power systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety and quality standards in the engineering and power sectors.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of project management software and tools.

Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in project engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing HVDC/STATCOM projects. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in an engineering project environment.
