Leading Hedge Fund provider revolutionising the industry (that’s a big word, but they are)! are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with 2-4+ years of hands-on experience in AWS, building secure and robust infrastructure using serverless and/or containerised architecture.
This is a rare opportunity to not only learn the Hedge Fund industry, but also to work in a fantastic team of highly experienced people. You immediate line manager is known in the Cloud industry and this would be a great learning environment.
We are looking for someone who is keen, ambitious and eager to learn. You will be building on your 2-4 years of current experience and will be keen, over time and only when you’re ready, to move up to a Senior Cloud Engineer role.
We are seeking someone who enjoys solving problems, helping accelerate other engineering teams with great infrastructure, and delivering business value to clients. Security is particularly important to this company, so ideally you have experience working in an environment with strong security requirements.
The current stack in AWS consists primarily of ECS (Fargate), ALBs, Aurora PostgreSQL and S3. We’re increasingly using serverless components such as Lambda & API Gateway, and we’re moving towards an event-driven architecture using EventBridge. We use Terraform for infrastructure as code, GitHub, and GitHub Actions for CI/CD
What you will be doing…
- Hands on work in AWS, building new infrastructure and improving existing infrastructure, primarily using Terraform
- Working on CI/CD pipelines to improve our speed of delivery and engineer feedback loop
- Supporting other engineering teams with their questions and requests for help on AWS, infrastructure, and security
- Working to improve our security practices and contributing to our work towards security certifications such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2
- Working closely with your team leadership to contribute to and incorporate the implementation of our loosely-coupled event-driven architectural vision
