We’re partnering with an established boutique digital agency looking to appoint an experienced Paid Media Director to take a leading role across its growing portfolio of e-commerce clients. This is a senior, hands-on strategic position for someone who has built their career agency-side, working closely with e-commerce and consumer brands to deliver sophisticated, commercially focused Paid Media strategies.

You’ll take senior ownership of client relationships and performance strategy, working across Paid Social and Paid Search while ensuring activity is aligned with the wider commercial objectives of each client. This isn’t a role for someone who has moved completely away from the detail. You’ll need to understand the platforms, data and performance drivers sufficiently well to interrogate results, identify opportunities and confidently determine what should happen next.

A major part of the position will be client leadership. You’ll be expected to communicate complex performance issues clearly, present recommendations with confidence and credibility, and be comfortable challenging senior clients when you believe a different approach will deliver better results.

Alongside client responsibilities, you’ll provide strategic direction and support to other members of the Paid Media team, helping raise standards and develop capability across the agency.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Significant agency-side Paid Media experience, ideally gained within boutique, independent or specialist agencies
  • A strong track record working with e-commerce/DTC or performance-led consumer brands
  • Deep experience across Meta and Paid Search/Google Ads
  • Strong commercial understanding of metrics such as CAC, LTV, ROAS and profitability
  • Experience developing Paid Media strategy rather than simply managing campaign delivery
  • Excellent senior client-management and presentation skills
  • The confidence and authority to lead difficult or challenging client conversations
  • Experience mentoring, managing or developing Paid Media professionals
  • A strong understanding of measurement, attribution and the limitations of platform-reported performance
  • A genuine interest in creative strategy, testing and how creative influences Paid Social performance

This opportunity is likely to suit someone currently operating as a Paid Media Director, Performance Director, Associate Director, Head of Paid Media or an experienced senior agency professional ready for broader strategic responsibility. The agency offers a small, collaborative environment with considerable autonomy and influence, without the layers typically associated with larger agency groups.

Salary: £70,000–£80,000
