Ecommerce Website Developer – Python – Start-Up

London | Hybrid (2–3 days in office)

Freelance 6-Month Contract (Initial) circa £550 a day

We're working with a fast-scaling Omni-Channel Ecommerce start-up that’s disrupting the retail space—and they’re on the hunt for a Web Developer to help them build and scale their core platform. If you’re passionate about clean, efficient code and love working in a high-growth, agile environment, this one’s for you.

You’ll play a key role in architecting and delivering scalable backend solutions across multiple sales and engagement channels. Working closely with product, data, and DevOps teams, you’ll help shape a modern, cloud-native infrastructure built on AWS .

Tech Stack & Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy backend services using Python (Preferred)
• Work with AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway, etc.) to build scalable, serverless solutions
• Integrate APIs across multiple platforms (web, mobile, retail systems)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced agile environment
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security best practices
• Solve problems quickly and efficiently while maintaining clean code and documentation

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience developing Python-based applications in a commercial setting
• Strong background working with AWS services
• Experience in Omni-Channel Ecommerce or retail platforms
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
• A self-starter mentality – comfortable in a start-up, fast-paced environment
