The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and organised Material Controller to join a fast-paced luxury automotive manufacturing environment, where precision and quality are at the heart of everything. In this role, you’ll take ownership of stock control activities across inbound and outbound operations, ensuring materials move efficiently through the business to support production demands. You’ll also be responsible for allocating NOK stock to the appropriate inspection locations, supporting accurate inventory management and maintaining clear communication across departments. Working closely with SQA teams, you’ll contribute to regular stock control reporting meetings, helping to identify issues and drive continuous improvement within the operation.
The ideal candidate will have previous stock control or materials coordination experience within a manufacturing or logistics setting, along with some supervisory or team-leading exposure. Knowledge of SAP and EWM systems is highly desirable, as is experience working with automated box picking systems. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, confident working in a dynamic environment, and able to build strong working relationships across the wider operation.
In return, the successful candidate will be rewarded with a basic hourly rate of £13.50 plus a site allowance incentive of £2.30 per hour, totalling an hourly rate of £15.80 (PAYE).
Based in the Crewe area, this role is commutable from Winsford, Nantwich, Northwich, Chester, Wrexham, Whitchurch, Congleton, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Stoke on Trent, amongst many other areas of Cheshire and Staffordshire regions.
We are specialist service providers to the vehicle manufacturing industry and their supply chains, and this is an excellent opportunity to join our team.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic DBS Criminal Record Check and all applications are treated in the strictest of confidence.
Working Hours
- 06:30 to 15:00 Monday to Thursday
- 06:30 to 12:00 Friday
Flexible for unexpected jobs coming in or if overtime is required.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience is essential preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience of Goods in/out stock control
- Previous supervisory experience of managing small teams would be desirable
- Knowledge and experience of using systems such as SAP and EWM
- Experience of navigating automated box picking systems e.g. Kardex
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work upon own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and strict adherence to deadlines
No FLT Licence requirement.
