We are urgently seeking a highly skilled Technical Author to join a tight-knit documentation team delivering content for a wide-area military communications system. You will play a critical role in producing and maintaining structured technical publications to support the development, operation, and maintenance of a complex defence system.
This is a high-value MoD project and requires precision, speed, and in-depth knowledge of industry-standard authoring practices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update and manage Data Modules to S1000D 4.1 standards
- Conduct Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) and convert results into structured documentation
- Populate and maintain the Common Source Database (CSDB) using EAGLE Publishing System or equivalent tools
- Gather and assess source material from suppliers and engineering teams
- Liaise with the training team and support related content production
- Assist with DMRL creation and updates
- Produce and validate IETPs using trilogi software
- Collaborate with other technical authors, proofreading and reviewing their outputs
- Contribute to ILS/LSA support tasks as required
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience authoring technical publications for defence, engineering or communications systems
- In-depth understanding of S1000D 4.1, Def Stan 00-601, and related standards
- Strong experience using structured authoring tools, such as EAGLE LSAR, EAGLE Publishing System, or XML equivalents
- Hands-on knowledge of CSDB structure, Data Modules, DMRL population, and IETP production
- Comfortable working in a high-compliance, secure, documentation-led environment
- Able to interpret complex technical data with precision and produce clear, modular documentation
- Excellent attention to detail
- Trilogi experience desirable
- Security clearance desirable.
