We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant to support a large public sector organisation, providing expert financial advice to budget managers and helping to ensure strong financial governance and informed decision-making. The role
- Provide financial advice and support to budget managers
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and revenue estimates
- Produce year-end accounts and supporting papers
- Monitor budgets and ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Deliver management accounts and financial reports
- Complete statutory financial returns
- Reconcile financial records and maintain strong financial controls
- Develop and improve financial systems and processes
- Support Finance Managers with service delivery
- Interpret financial data to support strategic decisions
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
About you
- At least three years' experience within an accounting environment
- Part-qualified accountant status or be fully qualified AAT
- Experience preparing budgets and final accounts
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting skills
- Knowledge of demand-led services and financial modelling
- Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
