We are recruiting for an established commercial insurance business based in Leatherhead. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and experienced broking team, managing a varied portfolio of commercial clients, including major scheme-based clients within the removals and storage sector.
The position is fully office-based in Leatherhead, so applicants must be able to commute comfortably to the office five days per week.

The role
As Commercial Lines Account Handler, you will provide a responsive and professional service to new and existing commercial clients while supporting brokers and the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing commercial insurance renewals and mid-term adjustments
- Reviewing risk and claims information
- Gathering additional information from clients where required
- Obtaining competitive quotations from insurers
- Presenting renewal terms and following up with clients for instructions
- Processing policy adjustments through insurer extranets
- Ensuring appropriate cover is placed within the required timescales
- Building strong and lasting relationships with commercial clients
- Understanding client requirements and recommending suitable insurance solutions
- Working closely with underwriters to secure appropriate terms and cover
- Supporting client retention and profitable account growth
- Responding promptly and professionally to client enquiries
- Preparing invoices and resolving billing queries
- Maintaining accurate client files, correspondence and policy documentation
- Working collaboratively with brokers and colleagues across the business
About you
We would be interested in hearing from candidates who have:
- At least one to two years’ commercial insurance experience
- Previous experience within a commercial insurance Account Handler or broking position
- Experience with commercial vehicle, motor fleet, public liability or employers’ liability insurance
- Experience managing renewals and mid-term adjustments
- A sound understanding of general insurance principles
- Confident communication skills when dealing with clients, insurers and colleagues
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- A professional and flexible approach
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, including English and maths
Progress towards CII qualifications would be advantageous, although full support for further CII study is available.
This position requires commercial insurance experience and is not suitable for candidates whose background is solely within personal lines.
