Job Description

We're looking for an Innovation Portfolio Manager to join our UK team and guide the coordination and governance of our innovation and growth portfolio. This role is based at Citigen (London) and offers flexible hybrid working.

Here's what you'll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in E.ON's UK business. You'll provide clear insights to support decision-making at the highest level, helping ensure our innovation projects deliver real value and align with our mission to lead the transition to a low-carbon future.

  • Designing and nurturing a governance process for innovation and growth, along with a collaborative approach to portfolio management.
  • Introducing a new portfolio management platform and creating KPIs and prioritisation frameworks that align with UK strategy.
  • Facilitating quarterly portfolio reviews, bringing people together to share progress and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Planning ahead for resource needs (people, financial, and support), identifying any gaps, and ensuring they're addressed in a timely way.
  • Supporting quarterly governance meetings at UK Board level, highlighting key decisions and shared priorities.
  • Continuously refining the innovation and growth governance model as our needs evolve.
  • Building positive, collaborative relationships across the UK business, including Digital Technology, Commercial Services, Energy Infrastructure Solutions, E.ON Next and Industrial & Commercial teams.

What we need from you
  • Experience in portfolio management within a complex, collaborative environment - ideally with innovation or change portfolios.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to bring people together and create shared understanding.
  • Familiarity with innovation processes such as Agile working and Rapid Assumption Testing.
  • A solutions-focused mindset, with creativity and adaptability.
  • Excellent analytical skills, commercial awareness, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience in the energy sector or a related industry.

It would be great if you also had
  • Experience implementing portfolio management platforms or governance frameworks.
  • Understanding of strategic prioritisation processes at a senior level.
