At E.ON, our Heat Network Operations is part of the Energy Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) business in the UK, delivering heat and cooling services to residential communities across the country. While many of our networks are based in Greater London, we also operate sites in the North East and South West. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor to join our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team. In this role, you will provide vital support across our operational network, helping to ensure our teams work safely and in line with E.ON's high standards and regulatory requirements.

Your main purpose will be to provide assurance through inspection, monitoring and review that our Heat Network Operations are safe, compliant, and aligned with regulatory and internal standards. You will help reduce risks to our people, the communities we serve, the environment, and the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance and advice to our operational teams, supporting the development of procedures, safe systems of work and other risk control measures, promoting best practice.
  • Supporting (and leading where required) investigations into incidents and unplanned events to identify root cause preventing recurrence.
  • Managing and reviewing data to provide teams with the information required to measure performance and focus improvement.
  • Attending operational meetings and providing SHEQ advice as required in line with expertise.
  • Working closely with key suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance to E.ON standards and drive continual improvement.
  • Supporting bid and tender exercises and engaging with clients and enforcing authorities on SHE matters.
  • Leading and engaging on specific projects to drive continual improvement in SHE performance.
  • Collaborating with SHEQ colleagues across the EIS business in the UK to promote shared learning.
  • Supporting production of SHEQ communications and briefings to raise awareness and drive cultural and behavioural change.
  • Designing and delivering training sessions aligned to your skills and experience, helping to build SHE knowledge and capability across the team.

What we need from you:

  • A National NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in carrying out Health & Safety (H&S) inspections and audits.
  • Strong track record of providing clear advice and guidance across multiple sites or contracts within an operational or business environment.
  • Confident in investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and supporting learning and prevention measures.
  • Skilled in preparing clear, concise reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

It would be great if you had:

  • Engineering or facilities management experience, specifically in hard services (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or building systems).
  • Environmental management qualification / experience in supporting business in environmental management.
