We are looking for a Obligation Delivery - Health, Safety, Security & Environment Advisor to join our team on a 12 month secondment basis.

Fixed-term contract: 12 months
Home based involving frequent nationwide travel to construction sites.
Salary: £45,636-£57,937

As part of this journey, we're looking for a passionate and proactive HSSE Advisor to join our team, helping us deliver on our energy efficiency obligations while upholding the highest standards of health, safety, security, and environmental compliance.
In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting our contractor partners to achieve best-in-class HSSE standards when installing energy efficiency measures into customers' properties. Working collaboratively, you'll performance manage our contractors, and help develop and implement effective systems, procedures, and standards for identifying and controlling risk.
You'll also be a trusted advisor to our internal teams, providing competent HSSE advice and supporting managers and staff across the Obligation Delivery business with their day-to-day operational responsibilities.
Key responsibilities

  • Carry out construction site inspections and produce appropriate findings reports to be shared with contractors and internal stakeholders, ensuring that corrective actions are fully implemented
  • Carry out HSSE audits to provide assurance that our contractors have the necessary competencies and management system controls to work on behalf of E.ON
  • Attend management and site meetings to advise on HSSE standards as required with reference to the relevant legal requirements (e.g. the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and E.ON policy requirements.
  • Produce safety communications and briefings to raise awareness, share key learnings or influence personal behavioural changes
  • Collaborate with the Obligation Delivery team to develop and present insightful HSSE performance updates / reports and recommendations as required
  • Support Line Managers with risk assessments and advise on the development of control measures appropriate to the level of risk identified
  • Provide guidance and advice to support the development of management system procedures, safe systems of work and other risk control measures
  • Support our internal stakeholders to select, onboard and manage contractors including the development of HSSE improvement plans across our contractor base

What we need from you
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • To have or be working towards NEBOSH General and/or construction certificate or equivalent
  • A detailed understanding of relevant H&S legislation and standards including HASAWA, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • A proven ability to advise on compliance matters at operational levels / department activities to a successful conclusion
  • Demonstrable experience in risk management and knowledge of construction associated risks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to plan and manage your own workload
  • Full EU/UK driving license required. Regular travel and occasional overnight stays may be required.
