Here's what you'll be doing:
E.ON UK operates one of the largest Street Lighting Contracting businesses in the UK with a large presence in the East and West Midlands as well as the North West of England. We have four Street Lighting PFI's and work for most local authorities in the areas we operate in. As a leading Independent Connections Provider (ICP), we deliver connection and jointing services for many of the UK's top housing developers. We also hold agreements to work on both Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) networks across the UK.
Are you ready to step into a pivotal role where every action contributes to illuminating our streets and highways? We're seeking dedicated Civils Operatives to join our esteemed team.
As a Civils Operative, you'll be instrumental in the installation and maintenance of street lighting and highway electrical equipment. This includes crucial assistance to Cable Jointers in making connections to DNO / IDNO networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hand digging to prepare for DNO & IDNO new connections, column replacement works and general street lighting civils works.
- Providing support to Cable Jointers on site.
- Ensure safety standards and emergency procedures are maintained.
- Assist the jointer in carrying out jointing activities including excavation and reinstatement of joint holes.
- Driving and operating general and specialist company vehicles appropriate to the role.
- Carry out risk assessments and work to company policies and procedures.
- Work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Maintain safe standards throughout the delivery of work.
- Delivery of work to maintain productivity expectations.
- Contribute to deliver team objectives.
- Delivery of ICP connections on electrical distribution networks.
- Delivery of Highways Lighting projects in and out of core regional geographic area.
- Delivery of network connections projects in and out of core regional geographic area.
What we need from you:
- NRSWA - Units LA 01 to 08
- Full clean UK driving licence up to 7.5T with flexibility to work on multiple sites across a wide geographic area.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and engage professionally with the public.
- Full G39 qualification.
- Proficiency in understanding operational and 1 : 500 electrical network diagrams.
- Emergency First Aid at Work certification.
- Manual Handling (HESA 104) or equivalent.
It would be great if you had:
- Current HGV operator's licence and experience in HIAB use for column installation / removals.
- ECS Card and appropriately populated HERS portfolio.
- HESA 101, 102, 103, 105, 106 and 201 (or equivalent).
- General Environmental Awareness.
- Skills in basic electrical competencies.
