Job Description

We're looking for an experienced, visionary, and delivery-focused Head of EIS Technology to lead the digital transformation and day-to-day technology operations across E.ON's EIS (Energy Infrastructure Solutions) pillar.

Head of EIS Technology

Here's what you'll be doing

As the Head of EIS Technology, you'll play a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the UK CIO and operationally aligned to the COO of EIS. You will be accountable for all Digital Technology (DT) services supporting the EIS business, from strategic planning and design to operational delivery and performance. This is a high-impact role that bridges innovation and operational excellence across a complex technology ecosystem involving internal teams, Group DT, UK central teams, and third-party partners.

You will be the senior technology leader for EIS, responsible for the experience, security, and performance of all DT services supporting EIS customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the vision – Define the long-term digital product strategy, ensuring alignment with EIS and E.ON UK goals.
  • Drive innovation – Identify market opportunities, shape the product roadmap, and explore emerging technologies to keep EIS ahead of the curve.
  • Lead delivery – Oversee the full product lifecycle, working with cross-functional teams to deliver on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
  • Champion the customer – Use data and continuous feedback to ensure technology choices enhance customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Ensure operational excellence – Manage all digital technology services for EIS, maintaining alignment with strategy, performance targets, and security standards.
  • Collaborate at the highest level – Partner with senior leaders across E.ON UK and Group to ensure smooth operations and clear communication.
  • Deliver sustainable value – Manage IT costs effectively, contributing to strategic and financial planning for long-term success.

What we need from you

  • Proven senior leadership in digital technology, ideally across multiple sectors (energy experience would be an advantage).
  • Deep understanding of both current and emerging technologies, and how to apply them to deliver growth and transformation.
  • A track record in agile delivery, leading major transformation programmes or day-to-day operations in a Product and Bus/Dev/Ops model.
  • Strategic influence at board level, shaping secure, compliant technology strategies and making the right technology choices.
  • Collaboration in complex environments, working effectively in Group/Region matrix structures and with multi-sourced vendor ecosystems.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing IT budgets, service models, and supplier performance.
  • Exceptional leadership skills – inspiring teams, coaching and mentoring, and guiding people through change.
  • Advanced communication and negotiation ability, able to engage and influence at executive level and beyond.
  • High integrity and resilience, willing to challenge the status quo to achieve better outcomes.

Here's what you need to know

  • Award-Winning Benefits: Our market-leading benefits package includes 26 days of holiday plus bank holidays, a generous pension scheme, life cover, bonus opportunities, and access to 20 flexible benefits with tax and/or NI savings.
